Enable Write Permissions for Files and Folders

This tutorial will show you how to Enable Write Permissions for Files and Folders from the Control Panel.

We run Window Servers and do not support the CHMOD command via FTP.

As a security best practice, and to prevent your website from getting hacked, you should never leave any files or folders writeable unless it is absolutely necessary.

Follow the steps below to TURN ON Write Permissions for specific files and folders that require it.

 

Step 1: Under System select File Manager

 

Step 2: Click on your domain name

 

Step 3: Click on www

 

Step 4: To enable Write Permissions for a Folder, click the lock icon next to it

To enable Write Permissions for a File, click the lock icon next to it

 

Step 5: Put a check in the box next to Write

Click the Set Permissions button

 

 

Step 6: To disable write permissions for a Folder or File, click the lock icon next to it

Uncheck the box next to Write

Click the Set Permissions button
