This tutorial will show you how to create a Mail Alias / Forwarding Email Address.
A Mail Alias is a one-to-one auto-forward of one email address to another email address. If you want auto-forward to more than one user, this can be done with the Create a Group Alias / Forwarding Email Address tutorial. Please be aware that mail aliases are restricted to internal only: forwarding within the same domain name, to the other Entrvst addresses or aliases on your account.
In this example, we want emails sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to be forwarded to email@example.com.
Step 1: Click on the Mail Aliases icon
Step 2: Click on the Add button
Step 3: Complete the Mail Alias Properties fields:
A) E-mail Address: type the first part of the email address you want to create (the part that comes before the @ symbol).
B) Select your domain name from the drop down menu.
C) Forwards to e-mail: type the user address that you want to auto-forward to.
You can only enter one email address, and it must be an email address within your domain name. We do not allow auto-forwards to external addresses (@gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc.) as this would undermine your security and be an automatic HIPAA violation.
Step 4: Your Mail Alias has been created and is effective immediately.
You will see your new Mail Alias email address as a blue link on the Mail Aliases page.
To change the forwarding address, simply click on the blue address link to access and edit its properties.
