This tutorial will show you how to create an FTP Account in the Control Panel.
You can only have one FTP user account.
Secure FTP access is for the uploading and downloading of website files only, our FTP service cannot be used for non-web files sharing or storage.
Step 1: Click on the FTP Accounts icon
Step 2: Click on the + Create FTP Account button
Step 3: Fill Out FTP Account Properties
A: User name: enter any user name you want
B: Password: enter a password
Alternately, you can click the blue Generate Password button and we will create a secure password for you. Simply click into the password box to copy and paste your password to your desktop or write it down.
Secure Password Requirements: Must contain at least 8 characters, 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character or symbol (maximum of 20 characters). Must not contain any part of your email address, name, domain name, business name, or common words / strings (e.g. password or 123456789). Instead of using words that can be found in a dictionary, we recommend replacing some letters with symbols or numbers, for example: D1git@L rather than Digital. Complex passwords provide a higher level of security. We also recommend changing your password at least once per year, or more frequently for added protection.
C: Confirm password: type your password again
D: Home folder: click into this box, you will see a drop down menu pop out
- Click the arrow to expand Root Folder
- Click the arrow to expand your domain name
- Click on the www link
E: Home folder: should be \yourdomain.com\www
Click Update
Step 4: Your FTP Account is now live
You will see your new FTP Account as a blue link on the FTP Accounts page.
To change its password, simply click on the blue link to access its settings.
