Two-Factor Authentication

This tutorial shows you how to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your email account.

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone gets hold of your password, they still can't get into your account without the second step.

Here's how it works. Once it's turned on, logging into Webmail takes two things instead of one: your password, plus a verification code only you can get. You can get that code two ways: through a free app like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Duo Mobile (available on iOS and Android), or sent to a Recovery Email Address.

Step 1: Go into Settings from the More dropdown menu.

Step 2: Locate the Two-Factor Authentication tile

Click Enable

Mobile App Option

(To use the External Email Address option, go to step 5)

Step 3: To receive your verification code with a mobile app, select Authenticator App from the dropdown.

Enter an external email address (as a backup option if you lose your mobile app or phone)

Click Next

Step 4: Scan the QR code with your mobile app

Enter the verification code and click Check

External Email Address Option

Step 5: To receive your verification code at an external email address, select Recovery Email Address from the dropdown.

Enter your external email address

Click Next

Step 6: Wait for the verification code to arrive at your external email address (be sure to check your junk folder)

Enter the verification code and click Check

Two-Step Authentication is now enabled.

You will need to retrieve a new code each time you login to Webmail.

Step 7: To disable Two-Factor Authentication, click Disable

Step 8: To install your email account into a mobile devicedesktop software, or chat application, your email account password will not work. You must use a password generated by the Two-Factor Authentication feature by clicking the eye icon.

Step 9: Click the copy icon to copy the password and paste into your desktop application.

Step 10: To Reset a Password, click the Refresh Icon

Click Reset

Step 11Logout of Webmail

From the Webmail login page, enter your email address and password

Click Login

Step 12: Open your Authenticator mobile app or wait for the verification code via email (if you setup Recovery Email Address)

Enter the Code

Click Login

Step 13: If you lose your mobile app or phone, you can receive your verification code at your recovery email address.

Click Trouble with the code?
